PAPER PLATE ROCK POOL

September 25, 2018

I'm so pleased with how this colourful Little Make turned out! This is a great invitation to make and a perfect activity for the kids to try over the summer holidays. Just set out all the materials, say 'Lets make a rock pool!' and see what they come up with. No tricky instructions or specific outcomes to aim for, just lots of fun with art materials!

YOU WILL NEED . . .

  • a paper plate

  • PVA glue and a brush or glue spreader

  • scraps of blue paper or tissue for the water

OPTIONAL DECORATIVE MATERIALS SUCH AS:

  • sand

  • small stones

  • green wool or shredded tissue paper for seaweed

  • fun foam stars for starfish

  • shiny paper cut into little fish shapes

  • sequins

  • eco glitter

  • pom poms

1. Pour enough PVA glue onto the plate and spread until you have a thin layer all over.

2. Stick blue paper of tissue down for water and then add a bit more PVA over the top.

3. Use other decorative items to create your rock pool then leave to dry.

There you have it, one sparkly, shimmery rock pool! You could hole punch the edge of the plate and add a loop of wool or string for hanging but make sure everything is well stuck down first!

I do hope you have fun with this one! If you would like to find out about more creative projects for your children then sign up to the My Little Makes Newsletter and I will send you lots of lovely news and ideas, straight to your inbox.
